Pierce County Family Connection Welcomes New Coordinator

Pierce County Family Connection would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our new Family Connection Coordinator – Stephanie Bell.  Stephanie resides in Jesup with her husband and 6 children.  Mrs. Bell served as a collaborative member and frequent volunteer with Wayne County Family Connection for the last 2 1/2 years.  She has recently left employment as the Secondary Education Parent Involvement Coordinator with the Wayne County Board of Education to join us here in Pierce County.  In her spare time she enjoys turning trash to treasures through crafty upcycling and spending as much time as possible making memories with her family.

” I can’t wait to get to know everyone here in Pierce County!  It’s such a welcoming place, everyone has been so nice.  I hope I can live up to expectations!”

Mrs. Bell began her contract on July 1st, 2013 and can be found in the old train depot office if you would like to stop by and say hello.-3

America’s 2nd Harvest coming to Pierce County January 22nd

America’s 2nd Harvest of Coastal Georgia mobile food pantry will be at the Lee Street Resource Center in Blackshear Tuesday, January 22nd to distribute food to those in need.  Low-income, elderly, unemployed, and/or disabled recipients are eligible.  Recipients will be asked to fill out a qualification form upon arrival.  The food will be distributed beginning at 11 a.m. or as close to that as possible.  The trucks are scheduled to arrive from Savannah around 10 a.m. and volunteers will need time to set up and prepare.

America’s 2nd Harvest of Coastal Georgia, based in Savannah, provides emergency food relief directly from its trucks to needy or at-risk residents, supplementing the efforts of local food pantries.
